Make-Up Do's And Don'ts And Other Fun Stuff

definite "Don't" is white face, especially if you are using cheap halloween face makeup. If you want to make your face paler, than I suggest using a foundation 1 or 2 shades later than your actual skin tone and applying to your face and neck. Aother thing you shouldn't do (but works for some and a very few some at that) is wear black lipstick. It doesn't matter how cute you think it would look on you, you wind up looking like a poser(unless that's the looke you're going for, than by all means go ahead) But if you don't want to look like a poset than I suggest you wear other darker colors or depending on your style bright neons go pretty good with black (darker colors like wine, plum, saphire, emerald and neon colors like pink, blue, green)
With eyeliner don't put it on too thick or else (once again) you'll look like a poser, and it's ok to make little swirls and spider webs and things like that but don't over do it.I believe that is either all or most of makeup do's and don'ts. If you have anything else please just comment it and I will make the changes! :)
Now it's time for the other stuff. I came across this article when I as looking for a website that you may have heard of Gothic Kitten (the link is here http://www.freewebs.com/the-gothic-kitten/). It was about a woman who was selling "gothic" kittens online. The kittens were all black (an were super cute),but they had peircings everywhere. Now don't get me wrong I think peircings are pretty cool,on humans not animals. The kittens had ear, neck, tail, and nose peircings. It was horrible, animals shouldn't have to deal with that. The owner was also selling with the peirced kittens a silk ribbon to walk them with,it would be attached to the neck peircing. It's animal cruelty!! here is a link to an article about it http://weeklyworldnews.com/headlines/15528/gothic-kitten/ That is all for today folks!! farewell!!

Victorian Goth

Today I dyed my hair (black and I wanted to do bright red streaks as well, but I didn't know where to find the dye for it),anybody have any ideas?
Today we're going to be covering Victorian fashion! Now I'm sure that some of you dear readers have heard of Victorian fashion before right? Well,if you haven't yet,I'm going to tell you :)!
Victorian fashion is dressing like the people in the Victorian ages did. Woman wear dresses(frills, lace and all) corsets UNDERNEATH their dress, bloomers (sort of like long puffy underwear),and well you have to be very prim and proper because your...well..dressed like your from the freaking Victorian era!
Now for guys you should dress formally like crisp shirts in jewel tones(maroon, emerald, burgundy, dark blue, navy blue, black and some other colours),crisp pants,a frock coat,a lacy tie thingy, and top hats.If you people(guys and girls) want to find out more here is a link to wiki!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victorian_fashion#Mourning_black
This is a good reference for men and i got it from punkturns30.blogspot.com

This is a good reference for women and  i got it fromdaveandsu.com
If you aren't into the entire lace, frills and feathery adornments, then this branch of goth isn't for you. Next month I'll be covering Cyber Goth! 'Till then HAVE FUN!! :)

More About The Blog And Other Stuff

This blog is for learning about goth. On this blog I will post pictures, recommendations on music,D.I.Y projects, clothing suggestions for men and woman, and well that's it! :)
In my oppinion goth is finding beauty in darkness. Now just for fun,it doesn't mean you go into to a dark corner(unless there is stuff in it) to find beauty :P. Ok so some really good gothy movies to watch are(well in my opinion):The Nightmare Before Christmas,Jack Skelington is tired of the horrors and terror of Halloween town. So Jack goes out in search for something new and on that journey he finds Christmas Town.He decides to take over Christmas. Back in Halloween Town,a young rag doll girl falls in love with Jack. She knows Jack's plan to take over Christmas will go horribly wrong so she tries to stop Jack. But will her attempts to try and stop Jack, work?  The Crow,Eric Draven and his fiance are murdered on Devil's Night(the night before halloween). Eric's soul can find no rest for what has happened to him. A crow becomes Eric's only tie to the living world and he goes out to avenge the death of he and his fiance.Coraline,A young girl moves into a strange new house called "The Pink Palace". She is very unhappy with her living conditions until she finds the little door. Beyond the little door Coraline finds her Other Mother and her Other Father. She thinks that her life there is much better than her life in the real world. But what if it isn't?Now i have decided if you leave a letter-like comment below i will answer your questions! Here some really good online goth stores, for when you want something you A)can't make or B) can't wait to buy the same thing for cheaper with just as good fabric (note you should probably only buy accesories during Halloween) Gloomth and the cult of melencholy, clockwork couture and goodgoth....note gloomth and the cult of melencholy is very expensive. I know it's only been like what? Three, four days now? Oh well......

What Is A Babygoth?

Babygoth-A youngling- usually still fourteen and at the pretentious stage, before they grow up and realise that you don't have to lie and agnst to impress the older ones. usually about 14, the size of a large teddy-bear, and still care about what others think, no matter how they deny it.
Many never grow out of it. They're funny, mainly because they're obviously bored and boring.
That is the definition of babygoth(here is the link to the site i got it from http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=BabyGoth)Now,being called a babygoth may be kind of annoying sometimes. But the reason that they call you that is because you're new to the sub-culture and most likely(i say most likely because some of you out there decided to do research first) don't now anything except some terrible misconceptions!
Here are some misconceptions i copied from Yahoo!(posted by Jennifer Hammit)
1) We Always Wear Black: Okay. I admit, a good deal of my wardrobe is black, but I do wear many other colors too. Usually the contents of our closet are darker, but that does not prohibit us from wearing lighter colors or even pastels. We will not get kicked out of the club for wearing light blue. Goth is a heart issue. It is an attitude. Sure many of us buy into the external trappings too, but that isn't what MAKES us goth.
2) We all use grease paint and black lipstick: While many of us are quite pale, and some of use make ourselves paler with the aid of make up (I do not need any help in that department), many do not. Black lipstick is also something that is not universal. Some people wear it, and actually make it work. I do not. I might if it didn't look ridiculous on me for certain events. It is a personal taste issue on both counts.
3) We are all UBER depressed and morbid: Yeah, have you ever watched NCIS ? Abby, the gothy character is super hyper and happy. Just because we are more attuned to the darker elements in life, does not mean we are all death obsessed and mopey. Don't get me wrong, some of us are, but the over all majority is not.
4) We are all Satanist/Wiccans: Goth is not a religion. Goths have a wide range of beliefs. Some are Christian, some are Atheists, some are Jewish, and yes some are Satanists and Wiccans (just to name a few).
5) We are all underachiever teenagers going through a "Hot Topic" phase: Not so much on this one either. Actually, goths are a wide range of ages. Admittedly, there may be a quite a few teens who may "try out" the whole goth lifestyle. This does not mean that you should panic the first time your child comes home with New Order t-shirt. Ask questions, pay attention, find out why your child has made these changes. It may be they are just going through a phase. It may be they are really "goth" at heart, and they will be just fine. Make sure it isn't a sign of something else. Many goths have been that way for decades. They grew up. Some of them went to college. Many of us have good professional jobs.
Now that is only a short list.......but the thing is if you're like that,it's fine if you like being that way that is perfectly ok.I am not here to judge you :)!
See? This is also a perfect example of misconceptions!!!
